Blue Miracle is based on a true story of a boys’ home in Mexico by the name Casa Hogar, cash strapped, and to make matters worse damaged by a hurricane. The boys and their care giver Papa Omar, who had no previous experience in fishing, teamed up with a captain of a fishing boat to catch a 385-pound blue marlin on the last day of the Bisbee’s Black & Blue Fishing Tournament on October 26, 2014, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
That was a miracle in answer to the prayers of an innocent boy who believed God answers prayers.
The boys raised by Papa Omar and his wife on Christian values of honesty and charity did not split up the $258,325 in prize money among them for each member to enjoy but donated it all to the orphanage which provide shelter, food, and educational opportunities to underprivileged boys in Cabo San Lucas. With the prize money they repaired the hurricane-hit orphanage, paid of all the debt, and later added a girls’ home as well.
This true story is retold with stunning ocean scenes, humor, adventure, and all that goes into making a good film. It is the invigorating story of Omar who grew up as an orphan to give hope to the “nameless orphans.”
Each frame of this film reinforces Christian value of love for the last, the least and the lost. This neat and clean film is a good recommendation for a Sunday afternoon Netflix time for the entire family.
Now available on Netflix in India.
